The iShares CGP is a charitable giving vehicle known as a donor-advised fund, wherein an individual or family makes an irrevocable contribution of personal assets to a public charity, and at any time thereafter can recommend grants to charitable organizations*.

The donor-advised funds provide highly attractive tax benefits, and individuals face none of the administrative responsibilities that many other forms of charitable giving entail such as annual IRS filings.
