iShares

Global Themed Indexes

Global thematic iShares ETFs provide transparent, liquid access to broad investment themes that cut across both geographic borders and traditional industry and sector classifications. Clean energy, timber & forestry, infrastructure and nuclear power are all examples of global themes.

These are typically long-term themes that often are driven by growth and development trends in emerging economies. As such, global thematics may offer diversification benefits and enhance a portfolio's risk/return profile.

Carefully consider the iShares Funds' investment objectives, risk factors, and charges and expenses before investing. This and other information can be found in the Funds' prospectuses, which may be obtained by calling 1-800-iShares (1-800-474-2737), or by viewing or downloading a prospectus. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.

Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal.

Diversification may not protect against market risk or loss of principal. There can be no assurance that an active trading market for shares of an ETF will develop or be maintained.

In addition to the normal risks associated with investing, international investments may involve risk of capital loss from unfavorable fluctuation in currency values, from differences in generally accepted accounting principles or from economic or political instability in other nations. Emerging markets involve heightened risks related to the same factors as well as increased volatility and lower trading volume. Narrowly focused investments may be subject to higher volatility. The timber and forestry industry is highly cyclical and companies in this industry may be adversely affected by changes in international economic conditions, interest rates, and environmental conditions. The energy sector is cyclical and highly dependent on commodities prices. Companies in this sector may face civil liability from accidents and a risk of loss from terrorism and natural disasters.
