Getting Started with iShares International ETFs

With a suite of ETFs covering international and global markets as well as specialized regions, countries, sectors and themes, iShares offers investors many choices for expressing global views and designing portfolios to help meet a range of risk/return profiles.

A good first step — analyze existing international exposure using the iShares International Exposure Tool. The tool allows users to:

  • Quickly assess an international iShares ETF's (or an entire portfolio's) sector and country weightings
  • Easily identify iShares ETFs with exposures to a specific country or sector
  • Obtain a snapshot of returns, risk and correlations of major market indexes over various time periods

Carefully consider the iShares Funds' investment objectives, risk factors, and charges and expenses before investing. This and other information can be found in the Funds' prospectuses, which may be obtained by calling 1-800-iShares (1-800-474-2737), or by viewing or downloading a prospectus. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.

Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Diversification may not protect against market risk or loss of principal.

In addition to the normal risks associated with investing, international investments may involve risk of capital loss from unfavorable fluctuation in currency values, from differences in generally accepted accounting principles or from economic or political instability in other nations. Emerging markets involve heightened risks related to the same factors as well as increased volatility and lower trading volume. Securities focusing on a single country and narrowly focused investments typically exhibit higher volatility.

No proprietary technology or asset allocation model is a guarantee against loss of principal. There can be no assurance that an investment strategy based on the tools will be successful.
